Playfulness and curiosity in the usage of new technology and digital filmmaking has always been of great importance within these fields. There are many different media technologies that can form what the user wants to communicate in a certain context. One of these forms of expression that has increased in popularity from the early 20th century until today is the animation technique, Stop motion. Amateur filmmakers have also found an interest in using the technique. Our purpose has been to study the different aspects as to why young-adult amateur filmmakers have chosen stop motion as the way to express themselves.

Analys, modellering och återskapande av fordonsdynamiska rörelser i tåg

The purpose of this thesis was to analyse, model and finally generate dynamic vehicular motions in a train. The objective with the analysis was to find important motions for a realistic train experience. The motions from the analysis were then weighted against possibilities for generation in a motion platform.A dynamic motion model was created to model the selected motions. The model was implemented in a simulation environment, more specifically MATLAB/Simulink. The simulation environment was used to simulate the model and to generate outputs to control a motion platform.

The horses where observed in the morning (5.30-6.30 am) and in the evening (5.45-6.45 pm) during four days. In addition to a time budget, the horses? positions in the enclosure were registered.

Technology evolves quickly, with innovative ideas growing everywhere. Still, no technology is anywhere near challenging the mouse and keyboard for navigation of your standard computer. This study focuses on comparing the traditional technologies of mouse and keyboard with the new technology of gestures - in this case Leap Motion - in purpose of finding how the usage differs and what the potential users want from the competing technology. The experiment was executed in a controlled environment, with as few external factors as possible. We found that although the test subjects found Leap Motion fun, the test subjects do not want to surf the web with gestures.

Studies show that product placement is becoming a more and more common method for companies to use when communicating with consumers. The results of this study can?t confirm nor deny that claim, but instead we offered the observation that as a communication method, product placement and TV-commercials are more similar than revealed at first glance.Cars of the brand Ford appeared in seven out of the 50 motion pictures that made up the sample material in this study. In several instances the values that were communicated regarding the brand matched, completely or in large parts, the values communicated about the Ford brand in Ford?s own commercials.This doesn?t hold true for all companies.

In this project we have used the theory of analytical mechanics to derive equations of motion for complex mechanical systems in order to study their behaviour over time. Even if the theory provides powerful tools to tackle tough problems which would be very hard to solve by methods of Newtonian mechanics, you are still relatively limited without running any computer simulations. One realises that in a faster rate it will be an incredibly difficult task to find an analytical solution when the degrees of freedom increases. Even if one would succeed to derive the equations, one still has to solve them to get the information of the systems behavior. Of experience one knows that the equations in general are nonlinear and hence must be integrated numericaly.

Att animera mänskliga Karaktärer : En studie kring animation med hjälp av icke verbal kommunikation

I detta arbete undersöks det vilken av två animationsmetoder, handanimation eller motion capture som främst skapar animation som upplevs av åskådaren som naturlig i sitt rörelsemönster. För att besvara denna fråga har en litteraturstudie genomförts som främst fokuserar på området kroppsspråk. Tre typer av animationer har skapats dels med hjälp av motion capture-teknik och dels med handanimation. Sedan utvärderas de olika animationsklippen genom en kvalitativ undersökning där det visade sig att de animationer som skapats med hjälp av motion capture-teknik upplevdes som naturligast i sitt rörelsemönster.    .

MC.d.o.t : Motion capture data och dess tillgänglighet

Hårdvara kan bli gammal, program kan sluta utvecklas, filer som skapats från sådan hårdvara respektive mjukvara kan bli oanvändbara med tiden. Samt att hålla ordning på många individuella filer kan i längden bli jobbigt för användare. Med en databasorienterad lagrinsgslösning kan olika API:er användas för att göra data kompatibel med flera olika verktyg och program, samt att det kan användas för att skapa en centraliserad lösning för att enkelt hålla ordning på information. Bland databaser finns det två primära grupperingar: SQL och NoSQL. Detta arbete ämnar undersöka vilken typ som passar för att hantera motion capture data.

Den sociala kontexten inom idrotten är en viktig orsak till utövares motivation. Sociala skäl såsom känsla av tillhörighet, att vara del av ett lag och social status rapporteras som centrala anledningar till engagemang. Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka vilka motiv individer anger till sitt motionerande med fokus på de sociala aspekterna, med en jämförelse mellan könen. Studien utgår ifrån Deci och Ryans Self-Determination Theory (2000). Motiv till deltagande i motion mättes genom användandet av ?The Exercise Motivation Inventory-2?.
